THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF PRINTER CARTRIDGES

Some experts pointed out that the environmental pollution caused by waste consumables mainly includes residual ink pollution and chip pollution. According to CCID Consulting’s statistics, the sales of ink cartridges in my country reached 33.824 million in 2002. With the popularization of inkjet printers, the sales of ink cartridges will continue to grow rapidly.

About 70% of used printer cartridges are being thrown out.

About 75% of waste is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it.

A laser cartridge being thrown into a landfill can take up to 450 years to decompose – some components take over 1,000 years!
In one year, if the world’s discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end, they would circle over the earth over three times.
